Georgia Milestones

May 6, 2019

Parents:

The Georgia Milestones End of Course Test will be administered Tuesday, May 7 (ELA-Part 1) and May 8 (ELA-Part 2), Thursday, May 9 (Math) and Tuesday, May 14 (Science) 2019. It is very important that all students are present and on time to take each test and are urged to be present each day during the testing week for review.

We ask parents to help students be prepared to perform to the best of their ability on these tests. Some positive strategies include:

Making sure students get a good night’s rest each night.

Encourage students to eat a nutritious breakfast.

Relieving students of any stressful situations.

Encouraging students to read each question carefully and select the best answer.

Emphasizing the importance of these tests and all other academic matters.

The information below is provided to assist you and your student in becoming familiar with the features of online testing.

· A website, called Experience Online Testing Georgia, has been established to provide an

opportunity for students to become familiar with the online testing platform. The website can be found at the link that follows: http://www.gaexperienceonline.com/. This practice site does not require a log-in and is available 7 days a week. Importantly, this practice site is not designed as a “practice test” to measure a student’s knowledge of course content and scores will not be generated. Again, it is intended to allow students to familiarize themselves with the online platform prior to testing.

· We will also be setting up practice sessions during the school day to provide students a similar opportunity to

acquaint themselves with the online testing system.

Please note: Students are not to be in possession of cell phones during testing. If students are caught with cell phones, testing materials will be taken up, and that test may be invalidated. Students are also being asked to place all belongings (i.e. coats, jackets, purses, etc.) in their lockers in preparation for the test.

Educationally Yours,
